چکیده
Authentication protocols are often used in smart grids to deliver the necessary level of security. A huge number clients such a system, however, provides attacker with ability clone them, for example. Device fingerprints, or Physically Unclonable Functions (PUF), have been investigated as an authentication feature thwart attacks. In order accomplish security grid neighborhood area network communications and prevent unwanted physical access meters, former study designed lightweight system this way. The suggested protocol uses PUFs reduce As consequence, server/meter impersonation attack is one many assaults that thought be secure against. On other hand, it generally acknowledged no solution should trusted unless its has verified by independent researchers. result, paper assesses against typical adversary who influences over messages carried public channel. This demonstrates simply capable impersonating server meter vice versa. addition, attacks desynchronize making only interacting role legal rather than latter. Each proposed extremely effective, their success probability almost 1. Finally, modification successfully fixes protocol’s weaknesses. proof improved done through Scyther tool. computational cost comparison shows overhead compared scheme 4.85%, while withstands various attacks, including traceability, desynchronization, impersonation, man-in-the-middle, secret disclosure

Authentication Schemes based on Physically Unclonable Functions
In this project we investigate di erent hardware authentication schemes based on Physically Unclonable Functions. We start by analyzing the concepts of a fuzzy extractor and a secure sketch from an information-theoretic perspective. We then present a hardware implementation of a fuzzy extractor which uses the code o set construction with BCH codes. Finally, we propose a new cryptographic protoc...
متن کاملRobust Authentication Using Physically Unclonable Functions
In this work we utilize a physically unclonable function (PUF) to improve resilience of authentication protocols to various types of compromise. As an example application, we consider users who authenticate at an ATM using their bank-issued PUF and a password. We present a scheme that is provably secure and achieves strong security properties. In particular, we ensure that (i) the user is unabl...
متن کاملCryptanalysis and improvement of a biometrics-based remote user authentication scheme using smart cards
Recently, Li and Hwang proposed a biometrics-based remote user authentication scheme using smart cards [Journal of Network and Computer Applications 33 (2010) 1–5]. The scheme is based on biometrics verification, smart card and one-way hash function, and it uses the nonce rather than a synchronized clock, so it is very efficient in computational cost. Unfortunately, the scheme has some security...

Recently, Li et al. proposed a secure biometric-based remote user authentication scheme using smart cards to withstand the security flaws of Li-Hwang’s efficient biometric-based remote user authentication scheme using smart cards. Li et al.’s scheme is based on biometrics verification, smart card and one-way hash function, and it also uses the random nonce rather than a synchronized clock, and ...
متن کاملCryptanalysis of a smart card based secure password authentication scheme
Recently, Wang and Chang proposed a password authentication scheme is embedded in a smart card. This new verifier authenticates the login password key in without password table adoption. The safety aspects for this protocol were constructed on the basis of intensity factors and discrete logarithm. Nonetheless, in the year of 2008, Yoon et al. pointed out that there was a security loophole withi...
